5 Chocolate Milk Drinks

The end of September celebrates National Chocolate Milk Day. Dedicated to our favorite childhood beverage (and likely still a favorite today), National Chocolate Milk Day is a great opportunity to purchase and sip on chocolate milk drinks all day.

National Chocolate Milk Day is more than a day of indulgence. One 8-ounce glass of milk naturally provides essential nutrients like four B vitamins to help you energize and 8 grams of high-quality protein to help you refuel and build lean muscle. Without all the additives found in alternative beverages, milk supports wellness in a more natural way.

And while chocolate milk is amazing on its own, we understand if you want some variety. For National Chocolate Milk Day, try these five drinks made with chocolate milk.

Delicious and Creamy Chocolate Milk Drinks

Southeast Dairy Association - sipper

Try the Chocolate Comfort Sipper. Made with both yogurt and chocolate milk, these ingredients contribute high-quality protein to the drink. In a blender, combine chocolate milk, chamomile tea, chocolate yogurt, cocoa powder, and sugar. Cover and puree until frothy. Then heat each mug in a microwave until the froth rises.

Southeast Dairy Association - Chocolate Banana Frappe

Satisfy your sweet tooth with this protein-filled, energy-boosting Chocolate Banana Frappe. Combine chocolate milk, vanilla Greek yogurt, a banana, cocoa powder, and ice cubes in blender. Blend until smooth and frothy. After pouring into a glass, top with chocolate sprinkles and serve.

Peanut Butter Cup Protein Smoothie

Three simple ingredients make this filling Peanut Butter Cup Protein Smoothie super easy to put together, even on busy weekday mornings! Blend chocolate milk, vanilla Greek yogurt, and peanut butter until smooth.

Southeast Dairy Association - the fairway cafe mitchell london hot chocolate

Of course, if you don’t decide on chocolate milk served as is, you can always make it into hot chocolate. The Fairway Café’s Mitchell London Hot Chocolate only needs three ingredients to make the rich and creamy homemade hot chocolate. Using semi-sweet chocolate instead of cocoa powder is the secret to the creaminess. To make, combine milk and semi-sweet chocolate ingredients and cook until the chocolate chunks melt. Stir in chocolate milk until the mix thickens. Pour into mugs and garnish with whipped cream and ta-da, you have your new favorite mug of hot chocolate ready to serve.

Southeast Dairy Association - hot chocolate with moroccan spices

For a more unusual hot chocolate to celebrate National Chocolate Milk Day, try the Hot Chocolate with Moroccan Spices. This recipe adds an exotic flair to a mug of hot chocolate with cinnamon, cardamom, and orange rind. Boil chocolate milk before adding cinnamon sticks, an orange rind, and cardamom pods in the milk. Remove from heat and allow to sit for 10 minutes before straining the spices. Pour the milk over grated Belgian chocolate and stir until well blended. To top the flavorful hot chocolate, froth more chocolate milk and add chocolate shavings.
