Are your children Frozen obsessed? Of course they are. Most parents feel that Elsa, Anna, and Olaf have taken over their house! And, if your child is celebrating a birthday soon you’re in luck! Here are the tricks on throwing a ‘Frozen’ party with a healthy twist!
Begin the party by breaking the ice with Magic Frozen Wands. This recipe is super simple, super tasty, and super gorgeous! Only three ingredients, these Magic Frozen Wands replace cake pops. Place a lollipop stick in the center of a large marshmallow. Melt white chocolate in the microwave and dip the bottom portion of the marshmallow in the chocolate. Sprinkle on blue sprinkles and place on wax paper to dry. Tie a festive ribbon and let the magic begin.
While the children are playing ‘icy magic’ with their wands, you can lead them to the Frozen Candy Bar. While ‘candy bars,’ are extremely popular at parties, I created a healthier version with fruit and Greek yogurt. Say goodbye to added sugar of a traditional candy bar, and hello to healthy bones by using Greek yogurt which provides calcium and twice as much protein as regular yogurt.
Start by picking a variety of fruits such as strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, or grapes. Using a large spoon, dip washed and dried fruit into vanilla Greek yogurt. Place dipped fruit on wax paper and freeze. Note: If you have any frozen fruits leftover, you can use in a smoothie the next morning.
While we love Elsa and Anna, what is a Disney movie without a great best friend? Enter Olaf, the lovable snowman. Olaf stole the movie – and this next treat will steal the show. To create an Olaf Cheese Snowman, purchase white string cheese, and simply put your artistic skills to work. It takes a little practice, but my own 3-year old exclaimed ‘Olaf!’ when she saw these cheese sticks!
