‘Golden milk’ is all the rage right now and for good reason. The main ingredient, turmeric, has been proven to aid in digestion and decrease inflammation and cancer risk, among other health benefits.
Turmeric is the main spice in curry and what gives golden milk its beautiful yellow color. In fact, it’s used as a natural dye, so when making the golden milk, beware that it may stain your clothes, countertops and even teeth!
The active ingredient in turmeric is a chemical compound found in certain plants called curcumin. Pairing real dairy milk and turmeric increases the health benefits of dairy, thanks to turmeric’s health qualities and the nine essential nutrients found in milk, including vitamin D, potassium and calcium.
