Happy Birthday! The Dairy Alliance Turns 50

This year, The Dairy Alliance turns 50.

Originally the Southeast United Dairy Industry Association (SUDIA), The Dairy Alliance works to promote all things dairy. Milk contains thirteen essential nutrients that are important for building strong bones and healthy bodies. We see milk as an essential ingredient to life. Because of this, The Dairy Alliance provides nutritional information, dairy research, and recipes for a healthy lifestyle. You can learn how cows are cared forwhat practices ensure milk’s safetywhat nutrients are in milkhow you can include dairy foods in your daily life, and more.

The Dairy Alliance

We know there is some confusion online about who we are. We are a nonprofit funded by dairy farm families in eight states of the Southeast region: Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. Working with dairy farmers, school nutrition professionals, professional athletes, health professionals, local organizations, social media influencers, news media, and other agriculture groups to promote dairy to the public, you’ll see on our social media how we are working to help families in the region have access to milk.

While our name and programs have evolved over the years, The Dairy Alliance has always been committed to sharing dairy’s story with the public. Providing grants for new programs in schools, working with health professionals to cover up-to-date dairy research to further help their clients and patients achieve a healthy lifestyle, and creating dairy delicious recipes for your family are just a few of the ways we’ve worked to achieve that goal.

So we’re enjoying a slice of ice cream cake (or maybe a scoop of birthday cake ice cream) and looking back at the work that has gone into supporting the hard-working dairy farmers who make it all possible. Head over to our social media channels to reminisce with us.

Happy birthday, The Dairy Alliance!
