WARNER ROBINS, Georgia – With the help of SUDIA’s “Smooth & Smart” program grant funds, Houston County High School in Warner Robins, Georgia debuted its new smoothie pilot program, “SIPS: Fresh, Fast, Fun,” on April 7. The Grab-‘N-Go-style, reimbursable breakfast option offers students delicious fruit smoothies, available between morning classes at hallway kiosks. SUDIA grant funding helped provide insulated coolers, immersion blenders and mixing buckets for making smoothies. The goal is to increase breakfast participation among high school students. Houston County Schools hope to expand the smoothie program to other schools next year.
