This fall, we are all making our way to the coffee shops for our favorite fall sips. Skip the line down the block and make your new fall favorite at home by choosing real milk as the base. Milk is naturally nutritious. When compared side-by-side, cow milk drinks contains fewer ingredients and more naturally occurring nutrients than many plant-based alternatives. Try these five milk-based drinks that are essential this fall.
Delicious Milk Drinks
Pumpkin Spice Latte
Pumpkin spice takes over every fall. As another fun way to enjoy delicious milk, we are all about pumpkin spice lattes. To make an iced pumpkin spice latte at home, pour together whipping cream, pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, brown sugar, and vanilla. Blend and whip. Pour your choice of iced coffee into a tall glass. Add milk to the beverage, filling just over half the glass. Top with the whipped pumpkin blend. Yum!
Caramel Frappe
This frappe combines beloved iced coffee with fall-perfect caramel. Pour your favorite prepared coffee blend over ice. Add a generous amount of milk and add caramel sauce. Blend. Pour into a mug. Top with whipped cream and caramel sauce for that coffee shop feel and enjoy!
Spicy Mexican Hot Chocolate
As soon as the temperature drops below eighty, we are all eager to finally enjoy a mug of hot chocolate without the judgment of others. Warm milk in a saucepan. Add cocoa powder, cinnamon, vanilla, and sugar. Mix well. Add in a dash of crushed cayenne pepper. Serve in a mug topped with whipped cream and cinnamon.
Apple Pie Smoothie
Apple pie is a staple at many summer and fall events, making this smoothie the perfect choice as the weather transitions from hot and humid to warm and—well, still humid. Blend milk, apple slices, Greek yogurt, apple pie spice, and honey in a blender. Pour into a tall glass and top with whipped cream and cinnamon or apple pie spice.
Chocolate Milk
It isn’t fall without chocolate milk! Chocolate milk is celebrated all season long, from National Chocolate Milk Day in late September to Halloween. It’s more than a sweet treat. Drinking chocolate milk after exercise helps replenish muscle protein, meaning you can reach for a tall glass as part of your fitness routine.
