Advocate Touts Milk Over Oat Alternative in National Online Publication

The Dairy Alliance's Health and Wellness Advisory Committee representative for South Carolina and trained dairy advocate Lauren Manaker was quoted in an article for an Eat This, Not That article about what happens when you choose an alternative oat beverage instead of milk. Manaker stated that because it does not contain as much protein as real dairy milk, which contains 8 grams per serving, consumers will not be satisfied with the oat alternative. This article reached a national audience, showing the influence that dairy advocates can have in spreading more knowledge on dairy and consumers making better choices.
