Ag in the Classroom Kicks Off

The first Ag in the Classroom summer session at Milky way Farm in Anderson County. The workshop had 20 educators. They began the day with a farm tour and discussion with farmer Davis Peeler. After the tour, they traveled to Crescent High School for the classroom portion of the workshop. Participants learned all about South Carolina agriculture. One of the lessons highlighted teaches students how to make cheese! All participants then received a kit to make cheese in their classroom with students, as well as a copy of Tales of the Dairy Godmother and the South Carolina Dairy Ag Magazine.”

To help teachers educate students on agriculture and the origins of food, The Dairy Alliance is a sponsor for all 6 Ag in the Classroom workshops this summer.
