American Academy of Pediatrics Chapter Receives New Milk Research

Sponsored by The Dairy Alliance, the Tennessee Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics hosted a virtual webinar for pediatricians. The Dairy Alliance's Tracey True provided physicians with updated research and educational materials related to non-dairy alternatives and lactose intolerance, which are concerns commonly presented by patients. Using evidence-based research, she educated physicians about the nutritional quality of milk, how difficult that nutritional profile is to recreate through other foods only, and the cost-effectiveness of choosing to meet vitamin D, calcium, and potassium needs through dairy foods. Though 101 physicians registered for the webinar, the recording will also be made available to all 1,200 physicians who participate in the TN chapter.
