Atlanta Public Schools receive $40,000 for school lunches

GENYOUth coordinated a check presentation for Atlanta Public Schools at Burgess-Peterson Academy. The Kroger Foundation donated $40,000 for the school system to purchase insulated cooler bags for safe meal and milk transport for students. The Dairy Alliance presented the check to Superintendent Dr. Herring and Child Nutrition Director Dr. Hughes. Kroger Foundation's Felix B. Turner and GENYOUth's Eric Slutsky also attended the presentation. Local news channel WSB-TV aired a short clip of the presentation and attendee interviews over multiple days of their news programs. The donation will help students access nutritious foods like milk during continuing social distancing measures.
