Breakfast In The Classroom Reaches More Students at Moundville Elementary

Another school is seeing more dairy! Moundville Elementary School was struggling to accomodate students for breakfast due to their cafeteria being too small to hold all students. The challenge of seating discouraged many students from participating in the breakfast program. To increase breakfast participation, the school decided to implement a breakfast in the classroom program with help from The Dairy Alliance to purchase insulated bags and carts that can be delivered to classrooms each morning. Since implementing, Moundville Elementary school has seen a 52% increase in breakfast participation and a 34% increase in milk consumption through their new breakfast in the classroom program. Students love the program, with a 500 student-body moving 77,500 pounds of milk, or an increase of over 24,000 pounds of milk, in the 18/19 school year.
