Colbert County Farm City Week

Colbert County hosted the Farm City Banquet to celebrate the ending of 2018 Farm City Week. Farm City week was developed to show people that neither a farm nor a city can exist in isolation. This year Colbert County focused on dairy farming by creating “The adventures of Otis.” Over the past month, Otis the dairy calf has visited schools throughout the county to show the “Farm to Fridge” dairy tour from by The Dairy Alliance. This tour provided a hands-on educational dairy experience to explain how milk and dairy products go from the farm to the fridge. The Dairy Alliance spoke at the Farm City banquet about the trends in the dairy industry, and initiatives The Dairy Alliance executes to educate consumers about dairy nutrition and farming.
