Continuing Access to Milk Through Schools

The Dairy Alliance and GENYOUth have awarded $54,350 for Tennessee's Special Alternative Feeding Program to 29 school systems. The funds are for coolers and additional meal transport equipment to support emergency feeding efforts across the state. The unitized meals with milk are being served at over 442 school locations representing 522 feeding sites, including bus deliveries and meal pickup sites. The coolers and transport equipment will continue to be used to support USDA meal programs offering dairy products during the summer and upcoming school year meal programs.
