WIC Certifiers recently attended a virtual conference on "Dairy for Mom and Baby" presented through National Dairy Council and The Dairy Alliance. Certifiers, those trained to certify participants for WIC program eligibility, cannot leave their sites and there is no state conference they can attend to receive the continuing education needed for their role. These certifiers provide initial nutrition education to those eligible for WIC, so it is important that they are up-to-date in their information shared.
The Dairy Alliance works with WIC Central to offer quarterly webinars free for all certifiers. Sixty-nine certifiers participated in the January webinar and learned about dairy benefiting the health of new moms and their babies. Attendees received a certificate for one hour CEU upon completion. For such an important source of information, it should be noted that this webinar was free and there was no cost to The Dairy Alliance or the attendees.
