The Dairy Alliance's Callie Yakubisin, RDN, presented to an undergraduate class at Murray State University the role that dietitians play in the dairy industry. She highlighted dairy myths, the industry's sustainability goals and the nutrient density of dairy foods. Additionally, Callie shared with students how she became a dietitian.
The presentation was given upon request from Nichole Haynes, a dietetic internship director, professor and RDN, who previously attended an advocate training held by The Dairy Alliance.
Working with students seeking to enter a nutrition-focused role provides numerous opportunities for dairy to be shared in a positive light with future clients concerned about their eating habits and overall wellness.
