Jill Weisenberger Promotes Milk at VAND Conference

Jill Weisenberger, MS, RDN, CDCECS, CHWC, FAND, a The Dairy Alliance Health and Wellness Advisory Committee member and nationally recognized RD and author, was a keynote speaker at the virtual Virginia Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics (VAND) annual conference to more than 100 dietitians and dietetic interns. She presented "Unblind Them with Science: Toppling Flimsy Soundbites with Sound Science," which debunked nutrition myths and covered topics like snacking habits, milk's nutrient density and its 13 nutrients and adjusting diets for lactose intolerance. Dairy foods were emphasized as being a part of the dietary guidelines, unlike most other milk alternatives, and the importance of that exclusivity. Jill highlighted ways VAND conference attendees can teach clients to still incorporate dairy despite lactose intolerance.
