One hundred Dietetic Internship Directors and professors from across the region attended the Nutrition and Dietetic Educators and Preceptors Central Region meeting held in Birmingham, Alabama, March 2 and 3. The Dairy Alliance Director of Food and Nutrition Outreach, Mary Martin Nordness, participated in a sustainability panel, speaking to attendees about dairy’s role in a healthy and sustainable food system. Outside of the panel, The Dairy Alliance staff also exhibited educational resources for attendees to continue learning about dairy. These materials covered included information on dairy and sustainability, the benefits of milk vs. milk alternatives, choosing plant-based diets that include dairy and how to include milk in the diet despite lactose intolerance. Attendees were thrilled with their new dairy information to share, making the two-day event a success.
