To ensure future dietitians know the important role of dairy, Middle Tennessee State University seniors in the dietetics program visited the campus creamery to learn more about the journey milk takes from farm to fridge. Students learned about cow care, sustainability practices and food safety practices on dairy farms. Additionally, students learned more food safety practices, including the specifics of pasteurization, homogenization and quality assurance that occurs at the farm and processor. After visiting the cows, these seniors have the dairy knowledge they need to encourage dairy consumption among their future clients.
