The Dairy Alliance has partnered with Discovery Dairy to bring dairy farming to classrooms through an Adopt-A-Cow program. Classes will receive videos and printed materials about a local calf to learn about how the calf is growing and how her diet is changing while learning about dairy farm practices. Classes will also have an opportunity to connect with a dairy farmer and greeting their calf via video conference in Spring 2021. The program has received a total of 2,693 Virginia classrooms sign up for the program, with over 28,000 students participating in the 2020-21 Adopt-A-Cow program starting this November.
