Shelby County Schools has been awarded $15,250 in a DO S.A.F.E. Grant for the 2020/21 school year. The funds will be used to purchase several carts to aid the district in increased Feeding in the Classroom for breakfast and lunch. The uncertainty of using the school cafeterias fully for feeding students while maintaining proper distance during some meal times has led the district to plan for distributing meals to each classroom. The district has 212 schools and currently anticipates 112 of these locations will provide all meals in the classroom. The other schools in the district plan to take advantage of the Grab n' Go program and equipment.
