Tennessee Technological University nutrition students toured the Sunrise Dairy Farm in Cumberland County. Dairy farmer Tim Mast showed the students how milk and ice cream make it to the grocery store shelves from the milk produced by his farm's Holstein and jersey cows. The group toured the milking parlor and the calf nursery. The group then visited Sunrise Dairy Creamery to see the processing facility in action before enjoying some ice cream.
