FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ATLANTA (March 7, 2023) – March Madness is getting a fastbreak online. The Dairy Alliance’s “Dunks on You” competition campaign kicks off today and will feature college basketball players Zakai Zeigler (@RealZakaiZ), University of Tennessee, and Kendric Davis (@150_KD), University of Memphis. Players will go head-to-head against each other for the most interactive fan tweets, putting fans in charge of the winning outcome with the loser being dunked in an overflowing glass of milk.

The Dairy Alliance, a non-profit funded by dairy farm families of the Southeast, has promoted the benefits of dairy milk and knowledge of the dairy industry over the past two years through NIL partnerships with collegiate athletes – pushing milk to the forefront of college athletics as the best postworkout sports drink.

“With the collaboration of college athletes, we’ve been able to showcase how milk’s unique nutritional attributes fuel extraordinary accomplishments,” said Geri Berdak, CEO of The Dairy Alliance. “This competition campaign is not only fun for fans, but it drives visibility through a phenomenal platform, encouraging more people to fuel up with milk.”

The first of its kind, fans can use “#DunksOnYou” when tweeting either Zakai Zeigler or Kendric Davis during March Madness. Fans are encouraged to monitor the competition by visiting www.DunksOnYou.com where they’ll be met with animation versions of Zeigler and Davis - hovering over a tall glass to be filled with milk by tweets through online interaction. Highlighted on a scoreboard, the player with the most dunks in their glass of milk, wins the competition.

“The excitement of March Madness in collaboration with these athletes, brings a certain awareness through creative dairy and milk messaging to consumers,” said Berdak. “The creation of the ‘Dunks on You’ online competition campaign spotlights dairy by bringing in an engaging fan factor that I’ve not seen. We’re happy about the potential to create and drive awareness.”
