Your Shaken Espresso Needs Real Milk: The Importance of Milk

Have you tried the trendy shaken espresso yet? Understanding the importance of milk in it is key to added flavor and texture.

A shaken espresso is an iced coffee beverage that uses espresso, ice, and milk to create a frothy coffee base. It is a stronger, more flavorful option than some other coffee beverages. A shaken espresso involves shaking the espresso and ice together to blend the flavors and create a frothy consistency.

A shaken expresso is based on the Italian shakerato drink, which is made by shaking espresso shots with ice, sugar, and milk.

The Importance of Milk: Use Real Dairy Milk in Your Coffee Drinks

Regardless of if you make a shaken espresso or shakerato, your coffee needs real milk.

When making your shaken espresso, make sure to use real milk in your morning coffee to fuel your body with four B vitamins to help you stay energized! Milk is a must for the coffee lovers that are seeking extra energy through that morning cup of caffeine. Real milk is a natural source of riboflavin, B-12, niacin, and pantothenic acid that help your body turn food into fuel. Plus, adding milk to your coffee creates a better flavor experience.

While shaken espresso requires sugar or another sweet flavoring, this take on the shaken espresso uses a homemade brown sugar syrup. To include it in your next coffee, combine one tablespoon brown sugar, three tablespoons water, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. Blend and microwave for 1 minute when you are ready to make your shaken espresso.

To make a shaken espresso, add 1/2 cup prepared cold brew coffee or 3 espresso shots to a shaker with ice. Add your flavorings (like that tasty brown sugar syrup or simple syrup), cover, and shake vigorously to create a layer of froth.

Pour the coffee into a tall glass and add 1/3 cup of real milk. Garnish and enjoy!

Why did we include a cold brew option? It’s all about flavor preference! Due to the lower temperature and longer steeping time to make cold brew coffee, cold brews are less acidic than other options. Additionally, adding milk to your shaken espresso or cold brew beverages helps combat coffee’s bitterness. So if you need your morning coffee but want less of the bitter taste, choose cold brew and real milk.
